Every August, the Lotus Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah holds an event called the Holi Festival of Colors.
They call it the “world’s happiest transformational event.” In a predominantly Mormon state, and an even more predominantly Mormon locale, the clash of east meets west is particularly poignant.
In 2013 I attended the event to document the festival and its participants with a few disposable cameras and captured all of these images. The result was this photo series.
